About
My name is Mark Rinaldi, and I'm a portrait photographer.
I make studio portraits of interesting people. It's usually just one light against a dark background, so your face appears out of the shadows and the viewer can connect with your eyes. I specialize in black and white, as well as restricted color palettes.
I adore the dramatic light-and-shadow style of medieval and Renaissance painters like Caravaggio, de Ribera and Rembrandt, and I try to bring some of that seriousness to a modern, digital sitting.
Most of my work is 1/4 or chest-up portraits and close-up headshots.
My home studio is in Charleston, South Carolina.
